Northlight Art Centre is an independent artist-led creative space in Chapel Allerton, Leeds. A place to experience art, learn, make and connect - bringing artists, audiences and communities together under one roof.

Our year-round programme includes art classes and short courses, creative workshops, talks, events, art and craft markets and artist-led projects. Learn something new or develop your creative practice through pottery, jewellery,paintingand life drawingin Leeds,alongside workshops led by artists and creative practitioners working across a wide range of disciplines.

Community is at the heart of Northlight. Our weekly Pay As You Feel art sessions provide affordable and inclusive opportunities to make, meet people and be part of a creative community, while our wider programme creates opportunities for artists, audiences and communities to come together.

Whether you’re discovering art for the first time, developing your own practice or simply looking for somewhere to feel inspired and enjoy good company, Northlight is a place to make, learn, connect and belong.

Art Classes & Workshops

In addition to the creative programme our bright and adaptable venue with spacious gallery rooms, cafe, garden and terrace is available to hire for workshops, meetings and private events.

Whether you are taking your first steps in art making, seeking to develop your practice or looking to engage with a warm and friendly art community, Northlight provides a space where everyone is welcome and creativity can thrive.

Alongside our public programme, Northlight CIC works with businesses, charities, community groups and other organisations to create artist-led workshops, creative team days and wellbeing experiences. Sessions can be developed around your group, from a single creative workshop to a bespoke creative away day.
