Northlight is an artist-led Community Interest Company based in Chapel Allerton, Leeds. We create a place to experience art, learn, make and connect — bringing people together through creativity and shared experiences.

Our year-round programme includes art classes and short courses, creative workshops, talks, events, art and craft markets and artist-led projects. Learn something new or develop your creative practice through pottery, jewellery, painting and life drawing in Leeds, alongside workshops led by artists and creative practitioners working across a wide range of disciplines.

Community is at the heart of Northlight. Our weekly Pay As You Feel art sessions provide affordable and inclusive opportunities to make, meet people and be part of a creative community, while our wider programme creates opportunities for artists, audiences and communities to come together.

Whether you’re discovering art for the first time, developing your own practice or simply looking for somewhere to feel inspired and enjoy good company, Northlight is a place to make, learn, connect and belong.

In addition to Northlight’s creative programme, our bright south facing and flexible workshop space in Chapel Allerton Leeds is available to hire for art and craft workshops, creative classes and group sessions.

With tables, chairs and a flexible and practical set-up for making, it’s an ideal space for artists, tutors, creative practitioners and organisations looking for workshop space to hire.

Alongside our public programme, Northlight works with businesses, charities, community groups and other organisations to create artist-led workshops, creative team days and wellbeing experiences. Sessions can be developed around your group, from a single creative workshop to a bespoke creative away day.
