LIFE DRAWING

Classes and Workshops in  Leeds

Life drawing with renowned local artist and expert instructor, Boris Cruse. Suitable for beginner artists looking for excellent tuition or professional artists seeking a welcoming, well lit space with a variety of models.

Step into the rich tradition of life drawing, an essential practice at the heart of fine art for centuries. From the sketchbooks of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, to the expressive studies of Egon Schiele and the bold forms of Henri Matisse, artists have long turned to the human figure to master proportion, movement, and emotion. Now you can follow in their footsteps with expert guidance from accomplished tutor Boris Cruse.

With decades of experience as a professional artist and educator, Boris brings a deep understanding of classical techniques and contemporary approaches. His life drawing classes are designed to develop your skills in anatomy, gesture, line, and form, whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned artist.

Held in our welcoming and supportive gallery environment, each session features an exquisitely lit live model, with Boris offering individual instruction and thoughtful critique.

LIFE DRAWING
4 week Course

WITH BORIS CRUSE
STARTS TUESDSAY 1ST JULY | 6PM - 8PM
TICKETS £80 for all four weeks (all materials included)

What to Expect
In this course we’ll learn how to create both gestural and structural drawings from both long and short poses. This month, attention will be given to the anatomy and gesture of the limbs. Constructive feedback will be given by the tutor and it is also encouraged from your peers. Our life drawing sessions are dynamic in that they attract both professional artists and people who have no drawing experience.

Our models are exquisitely lit providing an ideal opportunity to represent the human form using tonal value. Boris, with his wealth of experience, will guide artists through each step of the journey learning about human anatomy and improving drawing skills regardless of skill level. Artists can also choose to cherry pick elements of teaching or simply work from the model.

Materials
All necessary materials are supplied at no additional cost including easels, drawing boards, bull dog clips, quality drawing papers, graphite, charcoal, Indian ink, brushes, and acrylics. Of course, if you have your own cherished tools, feel free to bring them.
