MEET THE TUTOR

Amanda Burton - Northlight Director and Studio Artist

Inspired by nature and organic forms Amanda’s jewellery work celebrates the beauty of pairing natural gemstones with warm copper and brass.
“Copper is an utter joy to work with. I adore the malleability, warm tones and colours it can create when heated or oxidised. Copper is affordable too, and it is important to me that my pieces are accessible for everyone to enjoy.”

Using traditional wirework techniques that are true to the ancient methods i.e. without heat or solder her wirework pieces are bold yet filled with intricate detail.

Amanda has been making jewellery from copper for over 15 years and has developed many of her own unique techniques. Her work has been featured in Vogue Magazine and she has written tutorials for Jewellery Making Magazine. Moving recently into using sheet metals and brass she is excited to be sharing her skills with us in jewellery workshops that are suitable for all abilities to enjoy.
