Northlight has two flexible art spaces, available separately or together. Both are part of Northlight’s working creative environment and can be adapted to suit different types of workshops and classes. We recommend arranging a viewing before your first booking so you can see the spaces, talk through your activity and decide which setup will work best.
Northlight is a working art space, so you don’t have to start with an empty room. Our equipment and flexible setup make it easy to create a space that works around your class or workshop.

Projector for day hire
Potential storage for regular hirers, subject to availability
On-site café serving coffee, cake and refreshments
You’re welcome to bring your own materials and specialist equipment. Just tell us what you’re planning when you enquire. Please note we do not provide art materials for bookings

The Art Room Package
Need more room? The Conservatory Art Room and Private Studio directly adjoin one another and can be hired together, giving you a larger and more versatile creative space.
It’s a great option for larger workshops or activities needing separate areas for demonstrating, teaching and making.
Hire Fee: £45 per hour
The Studio Room
A smaller adjoining studio offering a more private creative space for workshops, tuition and small-group sessions.
Hire it independently or combine it with the Conservatory Art Room when your workshop needs additional working space.
Ideal for: small workshops, creative tuition, specialist classes and smaller groups.

Conservatory Art Room
Our main creative space is a bright, flexible working art room used for Northlight’s own programme of workshops, classes and community art sessions.
Folding trestle tables allow the room to be configured for different activities, with easels and drawing boards available for painting and drawing.
Ideal for: art and craft workshops, painting and drawing, regular classes, short courses and creative group sessions.
Capacity: 14-16 seated
Hire Fee: £25 per hour
