NORTHLIGHT ARTS CENTRE
Northlight Arts Centre is a not-for-profit arts centre and gallery located in North Leeds. We are dedicated to working as a community resource, providing a nurturing environment for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to freely explore and express their creativity.
As a family-friendly creative space, we take pleasure in serving as a hub for performances, art workshops, and exhibitions. We encourage everyone to participate in the vibrant artistic culture that thrives within our walls, enabling a sense of belonging and purpose while nurturing artistic talent and enriching lives.
In addition to our local initiatives, we are committed to working with organisations on both local and national levels to broaden our reach and ensure accessibility to creative opportunities for all. Current partnerships include the Royal Voluntary Service, Leeds Recovery College (LYPFT), JazzLeeds, Arts and Minds, Aspire (Community Links), local music promoters and local professional artists.
Our vision is to continue expanding our collaborative efforts, removing barriers to participation, and constantly improve our equitable and inclusive arts community, ultimately enriching both individual lives and the community as a whole.
OUR SPACE
With its unique blend of community and creativity, our building has a rich history. Once a cherished local pub and more recently a mental health arts space, our building has been rooted in the community for decades. Whether you need a quiet sanctuary during the day for a cup of coffee or an artist studio or want to enjoy the large garden and terrace, Northlight is where community and inspiration come together.
HIRE OUR VENUE
Northlight offers a range of versatile rooms. We have smaller rooms perfect for yoga classes, meetings, art workshops or rehearsals. For larger gatherings our full venue option can cater for private parties and larger events. If you are looking for somewhere to do your creative work, our shared or private artist studios may be the perfect solution.
Designed for individuals of all skill levels, our weekend courses and art classes provide a supportive environment for creative expression. Explore the world of life drawing or delve into the intricate art of jewellery making. In addition, our weekly self-directed arts and crafts sessions offer the freedom to work on personal projects as well as socialise and feel inspired by others.

Northlight is home to North Art, created by artist Tim Miller. This local independent business breaks down the barriers to success that artists face. North Art offers an exclusive membership scheme with expertise in marketing and inclusion in magazine features and exhibition opportunities so your work will reach a wider audience. We can also provide on-site bespoke framing and laser and giclee printing services.

Potters brings you unforgettable culinary experiences with commitment to sustainability and animal welfare. Discover a menu that proudly showcases responsibly sourced fish, homegrown seasonal vegetables and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Founded by Paul Simon whose passion for high welfare and free-range produce is reflected in each dish.
