Needle Felted Landscapes with Janine Jacques

  • Northlight 31 Potternewton Lane Leeds, England, LS7 3DD United Kingdom (map)

Immerse yourself in the world of felt art with renowned landscape artist Janine Jacques.

Learn to create a unique piece of art that reflects the beauty and magic of the natural world. This exclusive half-day workshop invites you to explore the art of needle felting with Janine's expert guidance to walk you through each step of the process. She will offer individualised attention and hands-on assistance so this workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with prior experience. You can work sat down for the duration of this workshop so it’s a very relaxing and therapeutic session.

Bring along your favourite landscape and learn how to needle felt it onto a piece of material to take home and frame. This workshop will be an introduction to needle felting - which is a dry felting technique.

Needle felting is not sewing. Needle felting uses a special barbed needle and you stab pieces of wool fibres into the background material. It is easy to do and also very therapeutic (as long as you don't stab your fingers!).

Images of landscapes to work from will be provided, however we’d love you to bring your own too. If there’s a special landscape you'd like to create Janine will take you through step by step how to transform it into felt. Feel free to bring as many images and Janine can help you choose the right one.

The felt workshop will be between 3-3.5 hours long and includes:

  • All equipment

  • Merino wool

  • landscape images to use

You will need to bring:

  • layers of clothing you can take off / put on so you are a comfortable temperature

  • landscape images to use if you want to
